Field of Dreams 2
Architect:
Jean Larson
SALA Architects
Total Sq. Ft.: 2370 Bedrooms: 3 Baths: 2.5
Based on one of our most popular designs, Field of Dreams 2 is a classic farmhouse, but with the addition of an attached garage. Like its predecessor, this new home is specifically intended to look like it belongs to the land in its agrarian past. Its form revives the simplicity and good proportions of classic North American farmhouses. Featured in the highly acclaimed book Creating The Not So Big House by Sarah Susanka, in the introduction to The Farmhouse by Jean Larson, and recently in a feature article in Inspired House magazine, the original home has become an icon. With only fairly minor differences from the original Field of Dreams, Field of Dreams 2 is an excellent choice for someone wanting the beautiful and classic architecture, but where local building codes, covenants or personal needs exclude the use of the detached garage of the original.
L'Eaubelle
Architect:
Michaela Mahady
SALA Architects Inc.
Total Sq. Ft.: 2446 Bedrooms: 4 Baths: 3.0
We designed a steep roofed cottage of stucco and wood, with a simple plan that contains the basic activities of daily life within a single great-room. The gabled forms offer opportunities for a open volume over the living room, a tiny play loft at the peak of the roof between the childrens' bedrooms, and a treehouse space shaded by awnings perched above the garage.
Silo House
Architect:
Matthew Bialecki
Matthew Bialecki Associates
Total Sq. Ft.: 2450 Bedrooms: 3 Baths: 2.0
Silo House is certainly not your average tract house. This AIA award winning design overlays an elliptical "silo" within the central heart of a rectangular "barn". The contemporary styling of this home challenges common notions of residential design.
Mountain House
Architect:
Matthew Bialecki
Matthew Bialecki Associates
Total Sq. Ft.: 2481 Bedrooms: 3 Baths: 2.5
Mountain House is inspired by the picturesque stick style of A. J. Downing and the Adirondack Great Camps of the late 19th century. Wider than it is deep, and featuring a two story rear porch, upper level rear balcony and ample rear windows, the entire house is oriented toward a rear view.
Maple Forest 2
Architect:
Michaela Mahady
SALA Architects Inc.
Total Sq. Ft.: 2500 Bedrooms: 3 Baths: 3.0
A slightly smaller, and simplified version of the very popular Maple Forest home designed by Michaela Mahady. Like the original, it has steeply pitched roofs and large round porch. Its simpler roof design and more square foundation shape are intended to make it easy to build.
