Mountain Sun

Architect: Jamie McNett
Jamie McNett

Total Sq. Ft.: 2256  Bedrooms: 2  Baths: 2.5

Mountain Sun is designed to be very clean and simple, light and airy. This versatile 1.5 level home functions essentially as a 1,780 square foot single level home, with a large multi-functional 480 square foot view loft above. Mountain Sun is designed to keep all the activities of everyday life close, convenient and on one level for the couple. Because the master suite and one bedroom are on the main level, the main level alone makes an excellent small family home. The upper level loft was intended to be an office, study or library, but could easily be converted to the home's third bedroom. An optional sunroom allows for the potential of a passive solar design. Originally built on a water view lot, Mountain Sun would be an excellent choice for any rear view situation.

Total Sq. Ft.: 2446  Bedrooms: 4  Baths: 3.0

We designed a steep roofed cottage of stucco and wood, with a simple plan that contains the basic activities of daily life within a single great-room. The gabled forms offer opportunities for a open volume over the living room, a tiny play loft at the peak of the roof between the childrens' bedrooms, and a treehouse space shaded by awnings perched above the garage.

Courtyard House

Architect: Matthew Bialecki
Matthew Bialecki Associates

Total Sq. Ft.: 2747  Bedrooms: 3  Baths: 2.5

Originally designed for an avid gardener, the Courtyard House was inspired by the small barns and barnyards that helped to define the character of its original country setting. The design centers on a central garden courtyard surrounded by an arbor and the simple shed-roofed forms of the L-shaped house. The garden is conceived as the primary space with all rooms located around it.

Porch Cabin

Architect: Dale Mulfinger
SALA Architects Inc.

Total Sq. Ft.: 1932  Bedrooms: 3  Baths: 2.0

Clean and simple, the Porch Cabin at under 2,000 square feet seems at first glance, modest by many home standards. However, its efficient floor plan provides plenty of room for guests when built as a weekend retreat, as well as plenty of space for those seeking a smaller primary residence.
