Description
Designed and built by the American Lung Association as a showcase of healthy design. Architects, building scientists, contractors, manufacturers, and air quality experts came together in Minneapolis in 1994 to design and construct the Health House. Its state-of-the-art design integrates architecture, materials, appliances, and accessories to maximize a healthy indoor experience.
As in all healthy design, energy efficiency, ventilation, and daylighting are key ingredients. The garage is unattached, separated from the main house by a breezeway. An efficient U-shaped kitchen, conveniently located between dining and living rooms, joins with the living area to create one large great room with vaulted ceiling, fireplace, and French doors leading to an outdoor deck. The master bedroom, with large couple's bath, is located in a quiet zone, away from public areas, at one end of the main level. Climb the stairs to two more bedrooms and a bathroom. The walk-out basement contains enough space for a family recreation room and fourth bedroom.Floor Plans
